AUTHORIZING CONTRACT EXTENSIONS FOR SECURITY CAMERAS AND BUILDING ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS (BID# 30-019)

WHEREAS, the Kane County Information Technologies and Building Management Departments work with various offices and departments regarding security and building access systems to provide consistency and efficiency in the operation of such systems; and
WHEREAS, said departments and offices are responsible for costs associated related to these systems as budgeted within their individual departments and offices; and
WHEREAS, the Information Technologies Department issued Bid No. 30-019 seeking to retain the service of qualified contractors to perform security camera and building access control systems design, installation, maintenance, training, and monitoring for various facilities throughout the County; and
WHEREAS, 1.) Convergint Technologies and 2.) Alarm Detection Systems, Inc. were the lowest and most responsible bidders for said products and services, and said bidders have been determined to be able to provide the required products and services at a rate acceptable to Kane County; and
WHEREAS, the contract was a two-year agreement with an option for an additional two (2) extensions of twenty-four months each. This is the second/last twenty-four-month extension; and
WHEREAS, the County requests, and Convergint Technologies and Alarm Detection Systems, Inc. agree to the extension of the contract for an additional twenty-four month of service at the same rate of service as the original agreement in the not to exceed amount of Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($750,000) per fiscal year.
WHEREAS, the contract calls for the use of funds beyond the present budget year and the County of Kane acknowledges the necessity of the appropriation of such funds.
