Identify Elected Officials
Chairman Tepe indicated that the elected officials under consideration for 2024 are the
Circuit Clerk, Recorder, Auditor, Coroner, County Board Chair, and twelve County
Board Members. He shared detail on the current salary compensation for each elected
official. He noted that Dupage, Lake, and McHenry County all have an administrator;
Kane County does not. Tepe stated that the key function is to come to a consensus on
what the appropriate salary compensations for these positions should be. He asked the
Committee their thoughts on compensation for the Circuit Clerk and the Recorder.
Co-Chair Kenyon emphasized the importance of the fact that the position needs to be
paid, and not the person.
(Joseph Menolascino arrived at 3.26 p.m.)
Human Resources Exec. Dir. Lobrillo stated that an internal equity performance
evaluation was conducted in each department. Employee skills, experience and
performance all determined where an employee falls within their range. Much
discussion ensued.

Board Chair to $130K, plus a 3% annual increase for the next three years. The
