Establish the Charges and Goals of the Committee
Chairman Pierog stated that the Committee's goals are to select the candidates to
interview on Friday, January 10, 2025. She indicated that there were four submissions,
with one candidate who does not meet the qualifications. There was no indication by
the candidate having residency in District 7. The Committee will review all four
candidates, and determine whether or not the unqualified candidate should move
forward.
Committee Member Gumz made a recommendation to interview all four candidates.
She asked if there was a time frame for candidates to establish residency into the
District before appointment.
ASA Ford stated that the statute does not set forth a time frame to obtain residency.
However, in order to obtain residency, it would require a further analysis from the
State's Attorneys Office to determine what a qualified voter would be.
