Monthly Report
A.
Treasurer Lauzen stated that the total property taxes increased to 6%. The
e-checks and ACH processing increased by 15%. Lastly, the percentage
collected from taxpayers this year was 99.97%.
Supervisor of Assessments
Monthly Report
A.
SOA Armstrong stated that the assessment complaints are nearly finished. He
provided the monthly and year-to-date summaries of work performed by the
Kane County Assessment Office. He stated that the final deadline for all Board
of Review filings were passed. The number of assessment-complaint dockets
filed by Kane County taxpayers decreased by 15% from last year. Lastly, there
was a 25% decrease in parcel count from 2023.

Regional Office of Education
Regional Office of Education (ROE) Supt., Dal Santo, announced that Asst. Regional
Supt., Oliver, will be retiring on July 1, 2025. Batavia resident, John Jonak, will succeed
Oliver effectively on that same date.
ROE Dir. of Tech., Morris, stated that the ROE main office is a public space where
several services take place including fingerprinting, General Education Development
(GED), and Pearson testing. This past year, 4,300 people were fingerprinted, 700
people were GED tested, and 1,500 people were Pearson tested. Currently, there are
over 10K managed teacher licenses in the county.

Veteran's Assistance Commission
Monthly Report
A.
Veteran's Assistance Commission (VAC) Supt. Zimmerman stated that new
monetary awards for the fiscal year to Veterans reflects $8.2M. The VAC was a
recipient of the Department of Labors Higher Veteran Platinum Medallion Award.
There were 839 recipients nationwide. Fermilab was the additional Kane County
award recipient. Lastly, the VAC is keeping an eye on the Presidential transition
to see what impacts there will be for Veterans in Kane County.
