Chairman Sanchez announced the remote attendance requests for today's meeting.  
He asked the Committee if there were any objections to Committee Members Tepe and  
Surges attending remotely. There were no objections.

Public Comment  
County Board Member and Kane County resident, Young, reminded the Committee of  
a Proclamation that was passed by the Board two years ago for allowing the Clerk's  
Office to receive an award of $2M for Election Excellence. He stated that he has  
reached out to the Clerk's Office several times with questions on how the funds are  
going to be spent, and has been unsuccessful in receiving a response back.

Treasurer Lauzen stated that over the last two years, a total of 99.97% of  
property taxes from local agencies have been collected. He noted that an annual  
report from the Collector's Office has been filed for compliance purposes. Lastly,  
Lauzen highlighted that 2024 local tax agency funds collected earned interest of  
$3.5M.

Regional Office of Education  
ROE Superintendent Dal Santo stated that her leadership team gave a presentation on  
raising awareness of the profession of teaching, and celebrating educators at the  
Association of Educational Service Agency. The Raising Student Achievement  
Conference was held in Oakbrook last week, with over 930 Illinois participants  
attending. A student photo contest was held last week at the Water Street Theaters  
Exhibit. A winner was picked each week. The Countywide Institute Day is on Friday,  
February 28, 2025. Professional learning to all Kane County educators will be  
presented. Lastly, on Friday, May 2, 2025, the 49th Educator of the Year Banquet will  
be held at the Q Center in St. Charles.

Veteran's Assistance Commission  
Monthly Report  
A.  
VAC Supt. Zimmerman stated that the monthly report is on file. He stated that  
the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 14, was hosted yesterday. The Kane  
County Sheriff's Police Lodge Program gave away $5,900 in gift cards to thirty  
different Veterans in need during the holiday season. The VAC hosted a drop-off  
site for the Marine Toys for Tots Program at the Kane County Government  
Center Campus in Geneva.

Monthly Report  
A.  
Co. Clk. staff Pollock stated that the total collected year-to-date for 2024 was  
$1.47M, which is $300K in revenue. Passport collections continue to exceed  
numbers from the previous two years. He noted that Real ID deadline is now  
May 7, 2025. If residents are planning on traveling, they must have a real ID on  
their driver's license or use your passport.
