KCSO Chief of Administration Catich explained that the Sheriff has asked for
funding for the reimbursement of current salaries for lab personnel and
expenses. In the future, when funds are available, the Sheriff's Office would like
to construct a new forensic lab. When this time comes, the resolutions would
need to be amended. ASA Frank stated that the total amount being approved
would be $300K for salaries and minor expenses.

Committee Chairman Isaacson stated that due to the recent information shared,
it would be prudent to postpone or table this resolution to a later date.

Discussion - Opioid Settlement Revenue Expenditure for Specialty Courts
Expenses and Authorizing Budget Adjustment
Chairman Isaacson introduced the discussion on the Opioid Settlement revenue
expenditure for specialty court's expenses and authorizing a budget adjustment. He
asked the Committee if all expenses should be brought forward for approval after a
project has already been approved, or should a separate mechanism be developed
stating as long as the expenses are aligned with the budget submitted, the project
could move forward. The Committee decided that invoices for approved projects could
be approved by the Chairman, as long as, it is approved within the confines of the
approval. Isaacson stated that a resolution would be drafted regarding this new
process.
