Call To Order  
Chairman Sanchez called today's meeting to order at 9:06 a.m. He announced that  
there was no in-person quorum. No votes can be taken. This meeting will be held for  
presentations and discussion only.

Chairman Sanchez announced the remote attendance requests for today's meeting.  
He asked the Committee if there were any objections to Committee Members Surges  
and Gumz attending remotely. There were no objections.

Treasurer Lauzen introduced three members of his staff, Fin. Analyst Lloyd,  
Asst. Customer Service Mgr. Fuentes, and Customer Service Analyst Shook. He  
commended them on their outstanding customer service to Kane County  
residents. Lauzen stated that the property tax collection process has reached  
the 80% mark. There was a 6% increase from last year in overall property taxes  
collected. The E-Check collections had a 10% increase from last year.

Supervisor of Assessments  
Monthly Report  
A.  
SOA Armstrong stated that Elgin Township has a final equalization factor of  
1.1069, and the final filing deadline is October 25, 2025. Aurora Township's final  
equalization factor was 1.1192, and the final filing deadline is November 2,  
2024. He announced that he will be attending a one-day seminar at Northern  
Illinois University (NIU) in Naperville for a State Legal Symposium on property  
assessments. He will co-present with the Senior Legal Counsel of the Cook  
County Assessors Office. Armstrong noted that he will also give a presentation  
on the ten court decisions that every Illinois Assessor should know.

Regional Office of Education  
ROE Dir. of Operations and Tech., Morris, stated that 300 administrators were trained  
on emergency management reunification. He stated that the 150 building permits have  
been approved. The yearly required building inspections are about to begin. From now,  
until December 15, 2024, staff will be conducting inspections throughout the 225  
buildings in Kane County.  
Veteran's Assistance Commission

VAC Supt. Zimmerman stated that the monthly reports are on file. No additional  
reports were made.  
Proclaiming Operation Green Light for Veterans in Kane County, Illinois  
B.  
VAC Supt. Zimmerman stated that this proclamation will encourage the county  
to show their support for veterans by displaying a green light. The county  
building and the old court house will display green lights from November 4 to  
November 11, 2024.  
Chairman Sanchez stated that this proclamation will potentially be put on the  
Executive Committee agenda on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.

County Clerk  
Monthly Report  
A.  
Co. Clerk Pollock noted that if any constituents have questions about late taxes  
and what it means, current year taxes are handled at the Treasurer's office, and  
past year taxes are handled at the County Clerk's office. Passport collections  
are 3% ahead of record pace. The election judges training is finishing up.  
Pollock indicated that his staff has been presenting at schools, libraries,  
churches, as well as colleges, demonstrating new equipment, sharing  
information on election security, and voting information. Voter's registration was  
held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at the libraries in Aurora and Elgin.  
Pollock announced that Thursday, September 26, 2024 is the first election day,  
and early voting begins. Expanded early voting will begin Monday, October 21,  
2024.
