OCR Dir. Berger provided the monthly financial reports. He introduced Fiscal
Manager, Maria Gonzalez who stated that the WIOA is beginning to report
expenditures for youth funds. She projects that they will meet the required
benchmarks at the end of the two year cycle. The Trade Grant ended on
September 30th. Gonzalez addressed questions and comments from the
Committee. Discussion ensued.

Jobs Committee Priorities
RISE Grant Update
A.
Toth provided a RISE Grant update. Staff is currently working on a physical tour
of the County. They will be one more session of one-on-one interviews. The
deadline for the Rise Grant is March 31, 2024. Toth addressed questions and
comments from the Committee.
Greater Chicagoland Economic Partnership (GCEP) Update

Kane County Economic Profile Presentation
Toth shared several graphs showing Kane County's employment rates as of
August 2023. The annual employment average is at 251K. From 2022-2023
there was a decrease in employment in Kane County due to Automation AI. The
top employer by sector is currently manufacturing with over 32K jobs. The
unemployment rate is currently at an average of 5.3%. Toth addressed
questions and comments from the Committee. Discussion ensued.
ARPA Projects Update
D
Toth provided the ARPA Projects Update. Staff is working on the website and
contracts for the Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center. He hopes to start
working with manufacturers on January 1, 2024.
