PUBLIC COMMENT (PROCLAMATIONS)  
Madam Chair asked to move up the proclamation of Officer Nate Johnson, as well as  
to move up Resolution 25-308. No objections were voiced.  
Diana Ortega-Ehreth, who works for the Center for Information in Elgin, described the  
citizenship program and expressed appreciation for the recognition of Hispanic  
Heritage Month. She highlighted the importance of inclusion of the Hispanic community  
and standing with the residents.  
Adam Pauley from Aurora discussed the Proclamation of National Recovery Month, as  
well as the importance of recovery and mental health in the county. He announced that  
he is working with others to create the Elizabeth Pauley Scholarship Fund to help train  
individuals in mental health capacities.  
Ken Shepro from Wayne shared words by Benjamin Franklin in celebration of  
Constitution Day.

Stephanie Webber, Exec. Dir. of Suicide Prevention Services, shared her  
personal experience regarding this matter and how she founded a support group  
that continues today. She works with the community and collaborates with many  
services and hospitals.

Mr. Mike Malatt from Baker Tilly, shared the county's audit report and its findings.

returns 11:11 a.m.). Discussion ensued.

PUBLIC COMMENT (GENERAL)  
Kane County resident Dan Spellman spoke on Team Normal, which is a local group  
seeking to prevent voter fraud.  
Ed Mundt from St. Charles expressed his gratitude to the chairwoman and board  
members for their hard work, as well as his disappointment in a recent interaction  
between a few elected officials.  
Treasurer Lauzen provided a warning about the impact that not deciding on the budget  
could have on the county. Additionally, he presented a video that explained the  
importance of budget planning properly.  
Joe Bastien, the Kane County Outreach Coordinator at Live4Lali, explained the  
services offered regarding substance abuse recovery. Some of these services include  
peer support, one-on-one recovery coaching and case management.  
Brian Anderson from Sugar Grove cited a previous Strategic Planning meeting and  
encouraged forward movement with the budget planning process.  
Kane County resident Sue Sanders requested board support to protect the voice and  
authority of local counties, townships, cities and villages. She expressed her concern  
with the details of a proposal from the Illinois General Assembly, which would  
consolidate transit agencies.  
A Cook County resident shared voter history and information from the 2024 general  
election. She noted that these statistics come from the non-partisan research group  
she volunteers for, Unite for Freedom. She discussed the errors and findings from the  
2022 and 2024 Elections in the State of Illinois.  
Kane County resident Ken Zitko expressed his disappointment in the handling of a  
recent public comment segment. He presented voter roll research and information.  
Kane County resident Tristy Matsuka expressed her concern with the consolidating of  
public comment in a recent board meeting.  
Kane County resident Jodie Zitko addressed the Illinois Voter Registration. She spoke  
about the Department of Justice, as well as the monitoring of voter rolls and related  
data.  
Kane County resident Denise Theobald addressed the county's budget deficit and the  
frequent concerns brought to the board by various groups. She spoke on the CPI  
adjustment and raising the levy.  
Kane County resident Michele Bettag expressed her concern with the cost of the  
county's strategic planning and Illinois high tax rate in relation to the rest of the nation.

employee at the county. He noted that there will be a marker placed in recognition of  
his service.  
Member Roth inquired about a strategic planning conversation at the Executive  
Committee. Discussion ensued.  
Member Gumz provided an update on the happenings in the Legislative Committee.  
She elaborated on the RTA merger, reiterating that there is a collective opposition due  
to issues with the governing structure and land. She noted that productive  
conversations have been had, which included potential solutions. Discussion ensued.
