Chairman Pierog called today's meeting to order at 3:01 PM.

Public Comment
Kane County resident, Brian Anderson, stated that this meeting is an important part of
the selection process for the new Board Member for District 2. He reminded the
Committee the importance of appointing a candidate who is a solution-oriented person
who also brings experience, talent, and a skill set.
Kane County Board Member and resident, Bill Tarver, asked his colleagues to take
time to thoughtfully review and consider all candidates based on their individual merits
and qualifications. He noted that it has become apparent that aspects of the
appointment process have not been transparent or consistent. The constituents of
District 2 and all residents of Kane County deserve representation from someone who
truly reflects their values, principals, and priorities. Tarver expressed his concerns on
whether all candidates who applied for this appointment will be provided an equal
opportunity to interview. Furthermore, Tarver requested more clarity on who determines
the candidates' qualifications, and by what criteria. He wished the Committee the best
of luck during the decision process.
