CALL TO ORDER  
The special meeting of the Kane County Board was held at the Kane County Branch  
Court, 240 S. Randall Road, St. Charles, IL 60174 on December 9, 2024.  
Chairman Pierog called the meeting to order at 10:10 AM.

The County Board and assembly were joined by the St. Charles Color Guard, Post No.  
842 in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Chief Judge Villa said the invocation.

Madam Chair extended appreciation to all in attendance for attending this special  
swear-in ceremony.

Swearing-In of County Board Chairman  
Chairwoman Pierog was sworn in by Chief Judge Villa.

Swearing-In of County Board Members  
Chief Judge Villa invited newly elected officials to come to the front of the assembly  
where they were sworn in as a group.

Madam Chair recessed the board at 10:25 AM to allow them to enjoy refreshments and  
take family photos. The board was directed to return and reconvene at 1:00 PM in the  
County Board Room, 719 S. Batavia Ave., Bldg. A, Geneva, Illinois, to participate in  
their County Board orientation.

NEW AND UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Kane County Board Orientation  
Assistant State's Atty. Frank introduced ASA's Erin Brady and Steve Ford. He  
discussed some of the points his presentation would cover, such as county board  
authority, state authority, Freedom of Information Act, Open Meetings Act, ethics,  
finance, labor, and zoning.

Upon the completion of the orientation, the board adjourned at 2:10 PM.
