Chairman Sanchez announced the remote attendance requests for today's meeting.  
He asked the Committee if there were any objections to Committee Members Gumz,  
Surges, and Williams attending the meeting remotely. There were no objections.

Treasurer Lauzen stated that the monthly report was submitted a week ago. He  
stated that the Treasurer's Department is currently in the process of collecting  
$1.6B in property taxes. Lauzen noted that 300 tax agencies were collected and  
distributed. The first distribution was in the amount of $103M.

Supervisor of Assessments

A.  
Sup. of Assessments Armstrong stated that the 2024 taxable year is underway.  
The prior year was the General Assessment Year, so 2024 will consist of  
revision and correction by Township Assessors, and equalization. The statutory  
deadline for Township Assessors to certify their assessment rolls in June 15.  
Armstrong provided a monthly production report listing the monthly and  
year-to-date summaries of work performed by the Kane County Assessment  
Office during the previous month.

Regional Office of Education  
Regional Office of Education Dir. of Professional Learning Kathleen Algrim stated that  
it is currently renewal season for educators. Every five years educators have to renew  
their professional educator license with the State Board of Education by June 30, 2024.  
Algrim noted that all educators are required to obtain a certain amount of professional  
development hours in order to fulfill their license renewal. She stated that  
administrators are also required to complete one administrator academy a year by  
June 30. Any administrator that evaluates teachers also have to get a teacher  
evaluator certified and renewed every five years. Algril announced that a new online  
platform called Professional Learning and You (P.L.A.Y.) was launched two weeks ago.  
It is an online platform for members of the American Federation of Teachers to access  
a variety of programs and resources designed to enhance professional growth. Algrim  
noted that by addressing professional needs of educator members, they will become  
more successful in their careers.

Veteran's Assistance Commission

A.  
VAC Supt. Zimmerman reported that $3.5M of new benefits were collected for  
Kane County Veterans. He highlighted upcoming Memorial Day weekend  
events. There will be "The Wall that Heals" event held at Randal Oaks Park in  
West Dundee from May 24-27, 2024. At Bluff City Cemetery in Elgin there will  
be a "Remembering our Fallen" Tribute Towers Memorial event from May 25-27,  
2024. Lastly, the East side St. Charles Post Office was renamed to the  
Veteran's of the Vietnam War Memorial Post Office and signed into Law this  
month.

Co. Clk. staff Pollock stated that the monthly reports are on file. He informed the  
Committee that the months of June and July are busy wedding seasons. He  
noted that if individuals are getting married in Kane County, they must apply for  
a marriage license online 60 days prior to the wedding date.  
Repealing Section 14-2 of the Kane County Code (Licenses for Raffles) and  
Replacing it with a New Section 14-2: Licenses for Raffles and Poker Runs.
