Authorizing Update to Rabies Vaccine Fee

WHEREAS, pursuant to 510 ILCS 5/8 (chapter 5, 5/8 Kane County Ordinance), the Division of Animal Control is responsible for the enforcement of rabies inoculation for all dogs and cats in Kane County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to 510 ILCS 5/16.5, Kane County Animal Control has to conduct a minimum of one microchipping clinic per year; and
WHEREAS, allowing Kane County Animal Control to issue one year rabies vaccines and tags to all microchipping clinics will benefit the citizens of Kane County and fulfill the state statutes required of Animal Control; and
WHEREAS, Kane County Animal Control current charges ten dollars ($10) but due to rising costs is requesting to change the fee to fifteen dollars ($15) still maintaining the lowest cost in the county.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board hereby authorize Kane County Animal Control to charge a fifteen dollar ($15) fee for all one year rabies vaccines.
