AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF FOUR VEHICLES FOR THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE

WHEREAS, the Kane County Sheriff's Office has hired personnel to meet the needs to provide safety for the citizens of Kane County who require appropriate vehicles to carry out their duties; and
WHEREAS, many of the vehicles currently in the fleet of the Sheriff's Office are in the last years of their useful cycle, as detailed in the Vehicle Request Report included, creating a need to acquire new vehicles to be able to phase out older ones as needed; and
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office needs to acquire one (1) Ford F250 for Specialty Unit Commander and three (3) Ford Transit Vans for the Investigations Evidence team with appropriate upgrades so they meet requirements; and
WHEREAS, the most responsible vendor for a 2023 F250 4x4 SD Crew Cab Pickup Truck is Currie Motors, Frankfort, Illinois, at a cost of Sixty-Four Thousand, Four Hundred Ten and No/100 Dollars ($64,410.00); and
WHEREAS, the most responsible vendor for a 2024 Ford Transit Full-Sized Van is Currie Motors for Frankfort, IL, which provided a price of Fifty-Five Thousand, Nine Hundred Eleven and 00/100 Dollars (55,911.00) each or a total of One Hundred Sixty-Seven Thousand, Seven Hundred Thirty-Three and 00/100 Dollars ($167,733.00) for three (3) required vans.
WHEREAS, the total cost of the purchase of the four (4) vehicles for the Sheriff's Office vehicles is Two Hundred Thirty-Two Thousand, and One Hundred Forty-Three and No/100 Dollars ($232,143.00) that will be charged to Automotive Equipment Fund 128.380.395.70070.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board and the Chairman thereof, authorizes the Sheriff of Kane County to enter into a purchase agreement with Currie Motors of Frankfort, Illinois, for a total not to exceed Two Hundred Thirty-Two Thousand, and One Hundred Forty-Three and 00/100 Dollars ($232,143.00) for the...
