AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A NEW MOBILE OPERATIONS COMMAND POST FOR THE OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

WHEREAS, the Office of Emergency Management applied for and was granted approval for the allocation and use of American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 ("APRA") funds to obtain a new Mobile Operations Command Post vehicle (Resolution 23-387); and
WHEREAS, Kane County issued and RFP #24-001-KK for construction of a custom-built Mobile Operations Command Post Vehicle; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Emergency Management and Purchasing Departments conducted a Request for Proposals (RFP) process to identify qualified and experienced vendors for a custom-built mobile command post vehicle and LDV Custom Specialty Vehicles of Burlington, Wisconsin was selected by the evaluation team as the most qualified and responsible to the RFP and the Office of Emergency Management is seeking approval to award the purchase contract to LDV; and
WHEREAS, LDV Custom Specialty Vehicles was the vendor that the specification requirements for the vehicle not to exceeded the cost of $ 1,517,540.00 (One Million, Five Hundred Seventeen Thousand, Five Hundred and Forty Dollars; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of the command post will require funds beyond the present budget year and the ARPA Committee has approved those funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board hereby authorizes the Kane County Chairman to enter into an agreement with LDV Custom Specialty Vehicles to purchase a new custom-built Mobile Operations Command Post vehicle not to exceed $1,517,540 (One Million, Five Hundred Seventeen Thousand, Five Hundred and Forty Dollars).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Kane County Board authorizes a transfer from the ARPA fund account #355.800.668.85000 (Allowance for Budget Expense) to the ARPA fund account #355.800.668111.70040 (Mobile Data Units) in the amount of $1,517,540 (One Mi...
