Authorizing FY23 Emergency Management Program Grant for the Office of Emergency Management

WHEREAS, the Kane County Office of Emergency Management has been awarded an Emergency Management Program Grant (EMPG) through the State of Illinois funded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security; and
WHEREAS, the objective of the EMPG program is to provide financial assistance for the development of effective, integrated emergency management organizations within the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the grant award has been set not to exceed One Hundred Seventy-One Thousand, One Hundred Fifty-Six Dollars and 14/100 ($171,156.14) of which Eighty-Five Thousand, Five Hundred Seventy-Eight Dollars and 7/100 ($85,578.07) are federal funds available for reimbursement of eligible administrative cost as outlined in the Illinois Administrative Code Title 29, part 301.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized to enter into said grant agreement with the State of Illinois as part of the Emergency Management Program Grant program.
