WHEREAS, proposals have been solicited for Engineering and Design for HVAC systems (RFQ#23-058) for the Adult Justice Center. A total of 5 proposals were received by the November 1, 2023 deadline; and

WHEREAS, the qualified and experienced firm for comprehensive engineering and design HVAC systems services chosen is Kluber Architects & Engineers of Aurora, IL; and

WHEREAS, the cost of the proposal for Engineering and Design for HVAC Systems submitted by Kluber is One Million, Sixty-Six Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($1,066,400); and

WHEREAS, there is a need to replace the Domestic Hot Water System in the North and South Towers of the Adult Justice Center; and

WHEREAS, a proposal was received from Kluber to replace the existing domestic hot water system for the North and South Tower at the Adult Justice Center; and

WHEREAS, the cost of the proposal for the Domestic Water System submitted by Kluber is Sixty-Four Thousand, Seven Hundred and Forty-Six Dollars ($64,746.00); and

WHEREAS, pursuant to the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/4) Kane County has established a satisfactory relationship for services with Kluber Architects & Engineers; and

WHEREAS, accordingly, appropriate funds have been budgeted for both projects in the FY2024 Building Management budget.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with Kluber Architects & Engineers 41 W. Benton Street Aurora, IL 60506 per RFQ#23-058 for Engineering and Design for HVAC Systems at the Adult Justice Center in the not to exceed amount of One Million, Sixty-Six Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($1,066,400).
