Resolution Approving a Request to Submit an IDNR Recreational Trails Program Grant Application for the Development and Improvement of the Limestone Trails at Fitchie Creek Forest Preserve

WHEREAS, the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, Kane County, Illinois desires to apply for the 2023 Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grant for limestone trail improvements at the Fitchie Creek Forest Preserve; and
WHEREAS, the Fitchie Creek Forest Preserve Trails Improvement Project will enhance the failing sections of limestone; and
WHEREAS, the District desires to seek the aid of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources through funding from the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) Grant; and
WHEREAS, the RTP funding will provide up to a max $200,000 reimbursement for those funds spent on the projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, Kane County, Illinois, that the President be and hereby is authorized to seek grants from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for the assistance in the improvements and development of the project listed above by applying for a Regional Trails Program grant.
