AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT FOR THE BUILDING MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT WITH KLUBER ARCHITECTS & ENGINEERS FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES RELATED TO THE KANE COUNTY ADULT JUSTICE CENTER KITCHEN & LAUNDRY IMPROVEMENTS

WHEREAS, qualifications were solicited for ongoing engineering and design of HVAC systems services (RFQ# 23-058) and Kluber Architects & Engineers was determined to be most qualified and an award was made through Resolution #24-045; and
WHEREAS, bids were solicited for the Kane County Adult Justice Center Kitchen and Laundry Improvements Project (BID# 25-009-TL), which includes HVAC improvements. The lowest responsive responsible bidder, as per bid documents and specifications was Lite Construction, Inc. and was authorized in Resolution #25-396; and
WHEREAS, due to the magnitude and scope of this project, professional services are needed to assist with overseeing this project; and
WHEREAS, Kluber Architects & Engineers has submitted a proposal in the amount of Fifty-Five Thousand Seven Hundred Ten Dollars in the form of an amendment to the March 11, 2024, professional services agreement associated with RFQ# 23-058 to provide the Professional Services on the project of Kane County Adult Justice Center Kitchen and Laundry Improvements; and
WHEREAS, accordingly, appropriate funds have been budgeted in the FY26 Building Management budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman is hereby authorized and directed to execute the attached amendment to the March 11, 2024, professional services agreement with Kluber Architects & Engineers 41 W. Benton Street Aurora, IL 60506 for the Kane County Adult Justice Center Kitchen and Laundry Improvements Project in an amount not to exceed Fifty-Five Thousand Seven Hundred Ten Dollars ($55,710).
