AUTHORIZING THE KANE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE PURCHASE OF A BOMB SQUAD X-RAY MACHINE

WHEREAS, the Kane County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad responds to emergency situations throughout Kane County and Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office is in need of an additional X-ray machine due to the large response area ; and
WHEREAS, three quotes have been solicited and received for the purchase of a new Bomb Squad x-ray machine. Staff has reviewed the quotes and recommends the Cuattro Tactical EOD System for a total not to exceed Forty-Two Thousand, Eight Hundred Thirty-Three Thousand Dollars and 00/100 ($42,833.00) through Cuattro Imaging Device R&D, 150 Capital Drive, Suite 280, Golden, CO 80401; and
WHEREAS, the Cuattro Tactical EOD System utilizes the latest technology and permits the Bomb Squad technicians to scan oversized items, therefore enabling them to clear a scene more quickly and efficiently.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board that the Chairman of the Board is authorized and directed to purchase from Cuattro Imaging Device R&D, 150 Capital Drive, Suite 280, Golden, CO 80401, be accepted for the purchase of Cuattro Tactical System in the amount of Forty-Two Thousand, Eight Hundred Thirty-Three Thousand Dollars and 00/100 ($42,833.00), which sum shall be paid from the Bomb Squad Supplies Fund and the Chairman are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement to purchase said equipment at the above-stated price.
