Amending Resolution 24-150 Approving the Purchase of an Armored Vehicle for the Sheriff’s Office and Authorizing a FY2026 Budget Adjustment to Fund 128 for the Kane County Sheriff’s Office

WHEREAS, the Kane County Board approved Resolution 24-150 on April 9, 2024, approving the purchase of one (1) armored vehicle for the Kane County Sheriff’s Office; and
WHEREAS, during production of the Bearcat, the Sheriff’s Office determined that additional components were necessary and best implemented during assembly of the armored vehicle; and
WHEREAS, on October 7, 2026, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office took possession of the Bearcat and received a final invoice from Lenco Armored Vehicles that was $22,140.00 higher than the original estimated cost, bringing the final cost to $488,069.00, to be charged to 128.380.395.70070 Automotive Equipment Fund. This will be charged in the FY2026 Budget; and
WHEREAS, a budget adjustment for Fund 128 for the Sheriff’s Office for FY2026 in the amount of $258,171.28 is required to account for this payment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board approves the amendment of Resolution 24-150 that approved the purchase of an armored vehicle for the Sheriff’s Office to account for additional expenses of $22,140.00 incurred in production and therefore increase the final purchase price to $488,069.00, charged against 128.380.395.70070 Automotive Equipment Fund in the FY 2026 Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Kane County Board authorizes a FY2026 adjustment of $258,171.28 to Fund 128 for the Kane County Sheriff’s Office.
