APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF THREE LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING DEVICES BY THE KANE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

WHEREAS, the Kane County Sheriff's Office applied for and received the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority's (ICJIA) Live Scan grant to fund the purchase of updated fingerprinting equipment and accessories to improve operational efficiency, accuracy, compliance, and service delivery by modernizing fingerprinting capabilities in the amount of $50,000; and
WHEREAS, bids were solicited and received (Bid# 26-044) with the help of Purchasing for three Live Scan fingerprinting instruments with all accessories and software necessary for operation; and
WHEREAS, iTouch Biometrics, 200 W. Monroe St., Suite 2150A, Chicago, IL, was the lowest bidder with a total cost of Forty-Eight Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty Dollars ($48,860.00); and
WHEREAS, the purchase of this updated equipment for the Kane County Sheriff's Office and Judicial Center will be fully covered by the Live Scan ICJIA grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board authorizes the purchase of three (3) Live Scan fingerprinting devices and related components from iTouch Biometrics of Chicago, IL, at a cost of Forty-Eight Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty Dollars ($48,860.00) and that the Kane County Board Chairman is authorized and directed to execute any necessary contract documents for this purchase.
