AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT EXTENSION FOR KANE COUNTY ANNUAL ROOF INSPECTION, REPAIR, AND REPLACEMENT SERVICES FOR THE BUILDING MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT WITH WEATHERGUARD ROOFING COMPANY (BID# 23-054)

WHEREAS, bids were solicited for the Kane County Annual Roof Inspection, Repair & Replacement Services Bid (BID# 23-054) for facilities maintained by Building Management throughout the County of Kane. A total of five (5) bids were received by the October 20, 2023 at 3:30 p.m. deadline; and
WHEREAS, the responsive and responsible bidder for the Annual Roof Inspection, Repair & Replacement Services is Weatherguard Roofing Company of Elgin, IL; and
WHEREAS, the annual contract amount for Annual Roof Inspection, Repair & Replacement Services with Weatherguard will be Fourteen Thousand Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($14,350) with an as needed contingency based off of hourly rate and price of materials with a 10% markup as cited in Weatherguard's contract for Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) per fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, this was a three (3) year contract with two (2) one (1) year contract extensions, if mutually agreed upon and the Kane County Board approves. This is the first one (1) year extension and rates will remain the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized and directed to execute the first one (1) year contract extension with Weatherguard Roofing Company, 345 Renner Drive, Elgin, IL 60123 for Annual Roof Inspection, Repair & Replacement Services which includes the annual inspection in an amount of Fourteen Thousand Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($14,350) and an as needed contingency of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) based off of hourly rate and price of materials with a 10% markup for a total of Two Hundred Fourteen Thousand Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($214,350) per fiscal year.
