APPROVING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION FOR PLANK ROAD HIGHWAY SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT FROM ENGEL ROAD TO WAUGHON ROAD, KANE COUNTY SECTION NO. 19-00524-00-SP

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 23-537, the Kane County Board previously appropriated the sum of Two Hundred Eighteen Thousand Four Hundred Twenty-Six and 87/100 Dollars ($218,426.87) for the Kane County Highway No. 22 (Plank Road) Highway Safety Improvement Project from Engel Road to Waughon Road (hereinafter the "Project"); and
WHEREAS, the original local share calculation for Resolution No. 23-537 was underestimated by One Hundred Forty-Seven Thousand Four Hundred Sixty-Four and 52/100 Dollars ($147,464.52); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 24-299, the Kane County Board previously appropriated an additional sum of Two Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars ($220,000.00) for the Project. It was later determined the fund source was incorrect and thus these funds are not available; and
WHEREAS, during construction of the Project, it was determined that the plan quantity calculation for earth excavation was underestimated and after balancing the final quantities of all pay items of the Project, it is estimated an extra cost for construction of the Project of One Hundred Ninety-Four Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty-One and 12/100 Dollars $194,951.12; and
WHEREAS, the County deems it prudent to include in its estimated Project cost a contingency of $20,000.00 of the County's share of the Project for any net additions to the IDOT contract not offset by reduced quantities or unused pay items for a total appropriation request of $362,415.64.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board appropriate the additional sum of Three Hundred Sixty-Two Thousand Four Hundred Fifteen and 64/100 Dollars ($362,415.64) from Motor Fuel Tax Fund #302, Line Item #73000 (Road Construction), for a total County share of the Project appr...
