APPROVING A MOTOR FUEL TAX APPROPRIATION FOR ICE CONTROL SALT FOR THE SUGAR GROVE TOWNSHIP ROAD DISTRICT, SECTION NO. 26-15000-00-GM

WHEREAS, the Kane County Division of Transportation has solicited and received bids for the supply of ice control salt (bid number 26-040-TK) for the County and various municipalities; and

WHEREAS, the Sugar Grove Township Road District has entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement with several governmental entities, including the County, for the purchase of bulk salt for the maintenance of roadways within its jurisdiction; and

WHEREAS, the Sugar Grove Township Road District is eligible to receive appropriations pursuant to the Motor Fuel Tax Law (35 ILCS 505/1, et seq.); and

WHEREAS, the Sugar Grove Township Road District intends on utilizing motor fuel tax funds to pay for its dry rock salt procurement for the 2026-2027 winter season; and

WHEREAS, the Township Highway Commissioner of the Sugar Grove Township Road District and the Kane County Engineer have executed a Request for Expenditure / Authorization of Motor Fuel Tax Funds (BLR-09150) relative to a Motor Fuel Tax appropriation request in the amount of Eighty Thousand Dollars ($80,000.00).

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that an appropriation of Eighty Thousand Dollars ($80,000.00), be allocated from the Sugar Grove Township Motor Fuel Tax Fund to Morton Salt, Inc. for the items described in the Request for Expenditure/Authorization of Motor Fuel Tax Funds (BLR-09150) executed by the Kane County Engineer and the Township Highway Commissioner of the Sugar Grove Township Road District, and approved by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
