AUTHORIZING ONE-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH WELLPATH, LLC, FOR KANE COUNTY JAIL MEDICAL SERVICES

WHEREAS, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office executed a three-year contract with two optional one-year extensions with Wellpath, LLC, of Franklin, TN, that began December 1, 2022, for required detainee medical care services pursuant to 730 ILCS 125/17 and as authorized by Resolution 22-344; and
WHEREAS, with the three-year contract concluding on November 30, 2026, the Sheriff’s Office finds it expedient to exercise the option for the second and last one-year extension to continue services by Wellpath, LLC, of Franklin, TN, for the period covering December 1, 2026, through November 30, 2027; and
WHEREAS, the Jail Command negotiated this first one-year extension with Wellpath, reaching a mutual agreement that includes an increase of 3.6%, consistent with the most recently reported CPI; and
WHEREAS, the new annual base pay negotiated for services in FY2027 is $4,782,095.83, to be paid from 001.380.382.50210 Medical/Dental/Hospital Services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board authorizes and directs the Kane County Board Chair and the Kane County Sheriff to enter into a one-year contract extension for December 1, 2026, through November 30, 2027, with Wellpath, LLC, of Franklin, TN, for detainee medical services at the base pay of $4,782,095.83.
