AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF THE STATEWIDE DEFERRED PROSECUTION PROGRAM GRANT FOR THE KANE COUNTY STATE'S ATTORNEY'S OFFICE AND CORRESPONDING BUDGET ADJUSTMENT

WHEREAS, the Kane County Board passed Ordinance 25-387, adopting the Fiscal Year 2026 Annual Appropriations and Budget; and
WHEREAS, after the adoption of the Fiscal Year 2026 budget, the Kane County State's Attorney's Office was awarded a Statewide Deferred Prosecution Program grant from the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority in the amount of Forty Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety-Six Dollars ($40,796.00); and
WHEREAS, this grant funding will be utilized to support the Deferred Prosecution Program in the Kane County State's Attorney's Office; and
WHEREAS, a budget adjustment, in accordance with 55 ILCS 5/6-1003, is necessary to account for this increase in grant funding for the Kane County State's Attorney's Office in Fiscal Year 2026.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board authorizes the acceptance of the Statewide Deferred Prosecution Grant from the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority for the Kane County State's Attorney's Office and any signature(s) necessary from the Kane County Board Chairman and/or the Kane County State's Attorney to effectuate acceptance and execution of this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Kane County Board authorizes the following adjustment to the Fiscal Year 2026 budget:

001.300.300.60070 Computer Hardware +$12,393.00
