Amending Kane County Financial Policies Related to Indirect Costs of Grant Awards

WHEREAS, the current Kane County Financial Policies state it is the intent of the County for grant applications to include a request for reimbursement of indirect costs utilizing the de minimis rate even if the reimbursement of indirect costs does not reduce the reimbursement for direct cost that otherwise would have been received; and
WHEREAS, the Code of Federal Regulations was updated in October of 2024, changing methodology regarding how to make an indirect cost rate election; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend section (8) Grant Administration of the Kane County Financial Policies; and
WHEREAS, the revised Kane County Financial Policy, included as Exhibit A, would state: “It is the intent of the County for grant applications to include a request for reimbursement of indirect costs. Indirect cost rates should be developed in accordance with guidelines in the Code of Federal Regulations”.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the revision to the Kane County Financial Policies, Grant Administration, is hereby approved.
