AUTHORIZATION OF A CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH F.E. MORAN, INC. FOR KANE COUNTY BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEM (BAS) & REPAIR SERVICES (BID# 52-021)

WHEREAS, bids were solicited for the 2021 Kane County HVAC Building Automation System (BAS) & Repair Services (BID# 52-021) for facilities maintained by Building Management throughout the County of Kane. A total of two (2) bids were received and publicly opened on Monday, October 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Resolution No. 21-526 authorized the first two (2) years of this contract and Resolution No. 24-010 authorized the first one-year contract extension; and
WHEREAS, Building Management outsources HVAC maintenance services which cannot be performed in house by County Staff; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for the project was F.E. Moran, Inc., Mechanical Services, 2265 Carlson Drive, Northbrook, IL 60062; and
WHEREAS, F.E. Moran, Inc. services will be on an "as needed", on call basis at the rates cited on the Contract Rider: M-F: $162, M-F OT 3pm-7am: $220, Sunday (Double Time): $262; and
WHEREAS, this will be the second one-year extension of three (3) one (1) year extensions; and
WHEREAS, appropriate funds have been budgeted and are available in the FY2025 Building Management budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract extension with F.E. Moran, Inc. Mechanical Services, 2265 Carlson Drive, Northbrook, IL 60062 for HVAC Building Automation System (BAS) & Repair Services on an "as needed", on call basis, for an approved one (1) year extension expiring on January 13, 2026 in a not to exceed amount of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) per fiscal year.
