Authorizing Contract for Psychiatric Services for the Juvenile Justice Center

WHEREAS, Pursuant to Section 3-15-3 of the Unified Code of Corrections [730 ILCS 5/3-15-3], juvenile detention facilities must provide mental health services to persons with mental illnesses and developmental disabilities; and
WHEREAS, Family Counseling Services has the expertise, experience, knowledge and resources to provide psychiatric services and mental health care services to juveniles held for detention at the Juvenile Justice Center; and
WHEREAS, the Juvenile Justice Center desires to extend the contract with Family Counseling Services to provide for the mental health needs of detain youth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that Madam Chair is authorized to sign a one (1) year contract extension with Family Counseling Services to provide psychiatric services at the Juvenile Justice Center for the period commencing July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, at a cost of Forty-One Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($41,600) per year.
