AUTHORIZING FY24 BUDGET ADJUSTMENT FOR THE CIRCUIT CLERK'S OFFICE

WHEREAS, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) is the exclusive representative of certain employees of the Circuit Clerk's office within the meaning of the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act and have been certified as such by the Illinois State Labor Relations Board; and

WHEREAS, the Circuit Clerk's Office and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees ("AFSCME") have engaged in effective meaningful negotiations concerning wages and other terms and conditions of employment relative to the employees of the Circuit Clerk's Office and have reached a tentative collective bargaining agreement ("AFSCME agreement"); and

WHEREAS, the staff representative for the AFSCME represented to the Circuit Clerk's negotiators that the union employees of the Circuit Clerk's Office have ratified the tentative agreement; and

WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget passed by the County Board on November 21, 2023, did not include sufficient funds to fulfill the AFSCME agreement; and

WHEREAS, a Fiscal Year 2024 Budget amendment is necessary to fund the first year of the AFSCME agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following amendment be made to the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget to reflect changes to the Circuit Clerk's Budget to fulfill the AFSCME agreement:
