AUTHORIZING ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR ENGINEERING AND DESIGN FOR HVAC SYSTEMS WITH KLUBER AT THE ADULT JUSTICE CENTER (RFQ# 23-058)

WHEREAS, proposals were solicited for Engineering and Design for HVAC systems (RFQ# 23-058) for the Adult Justice Center. A total of five (5) proposals were received by the November 1, 2023 deadline; and
WHEREAS, the qualified and experienced firm for comprehensive engineering and design HVAC systems services chosen was Kluber Architects & Engineers of Aurora, IL; and
WHEREAS, the cost of the proposal for Engineering and Design for HVAC Systems submitted by Kluber was One Million, Sixty-Six Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($1,066,400) and was authorized under Resolution No. 24-045; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Building Management Department has had additional construction management needs related to this project; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Building Management Department requests authorization of an additional Two Hundred Forty Six Thousand Two Hundred and Eighty Dollars ($246,280) for the Engineering and Design for HVAC Systems at the Adult Justice Center; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/4) Kane County has established a satisfactory relationship for services with Kluber Architects & Engineers; and
WHEREAS, the contract calls for the use of funds beyond the present budget year and the County of Kane acknowledges the necessity of the appropriation of such funds; and
WHEREAS, this is a project that has been approved by ARPA and will be funded by ARPA.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Building Management Department is hereby authorized to expend an additional Two Hundred Forty-Six Thousand Two Hundred and Eighty Dollars ($246,280) for a total not to exceed One Million Three Hundred Twelve Thousand Six Hundred Eighty Dollars ($1,...
