Approving an Alteration of Speed Limit Within Elgin Township

WHEREAS, the Kane County Division of Transportation has caused an engineering and traffic investigation to be made on the below named streets or highways not under the jurisdiction of the Illinois Department of Transportation; and

 

WHEREAS, the Transportation Committee has reviewed the results of said investigation and has recommended the alteration of maximum speed limits as set out in the Illinois Vehicle Code, 625ILCS5/11-604, so to be reasonable, safe and proper.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Kane County Board, that pursuant to the Illinois Vehicle Code, 625 ILCS 5/11-604, the maximum speed limit on the section of the below named streets or highways shall be as indicated in the following schedule; and that this ordinance shall be effective upon its approval by the Kane County Board as provided for by statute, and the posting of signs giving notice of the altered maximum speed limits.

 

Streets Affected:

Bittersweet Lane

Gingerwood Lane

Hopps Road - Nolan Road west to dead end

Kristin Drive - Stevens Road to Gingerwood Lane

Pacer Place

Taos Place

 

Existing Speed Limit: 30 MPH

Proposed Speed Limit: 25 MPH
