AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT ADDITION OF ALTERNATE 4 FOR THE KANE COUNTY JUDICIAL CENTER PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WITH GENEVA CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. (BID# 25-014-TK)

WHEREAS, Kane County has solicited and received eight (8) bids (BID# 25-014-TK) for the Judicial Center Pavement Improvement Project by the March 28, 2025 2:00 p.m. deadline; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, as per bid documents and specifications was Geneva Construction Company, Inc., 1350 Aurora Ave. Aurora, IL 60506; and
WHEREAS, this is a three (3) year contract with two (2) optional mutually agreed upon one (1) year extensions as outlined in the bid specifications; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 25-150 authorizes the project at an amount of One Million Two Hundred Thirty-Eight Thousand Eight Hundred Seven Dollars ($1,238,807). Due to the addition of Alternate 4 this resolution authorizes the amount of an additional One Hundred Eleven Thousand One Hundred Eighty-Four Dollars ($111,184) for a project total of One Million Three Hundred Forty-Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety-One Dollars ($1,349,991); and
WHEREAS, funds have been budgeted and will be paid from the Building Management Capital Fund 500.800.801.72010.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized and directed enter into an agreement for an additional One Hundred Eleven Thousand One Hundred Eighty-Four Dollars ($111,184) to include Alternate 4 for a new project total of One Million Three Hundred Forty-Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety-One Dollars ($1,349,991) with Geneva Construction Company, Inc. for the Pavement Improvement Project.
