APPROVING ACCEPTANCE OF THE 2026 OPIOID USE DISORDER GRANT FROM THE CITY OF AURORA FOR THE KANE COUNTY COLLABORATIVE DIVERSION PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING CORRESPONDING BUDGET ADJUSTMENT

WHEREAS, the Kane County Board passed Ordinance 25-387, adopting the Fiscal Year 2026 Annual Appropriations and Budget; and
WHEREAS, after the adoption of the Fiscal Year 2026 budget, the City of Aurora awarded a 2026 Opioid Use Disorder grant to the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Kane County Collaborative Diversion Program in the amount of Eighty-Five Thousand Dollars ($85,000.00); and
WHEREAS, this grant funding will be utilized to support a case manager position in the Kane County Collaborative Diversion Program; and
WHEREAS, the grant year covers portions of Kane County Fiscal Year 2026 and Fiscal Year 2027; and
WHEREAS, the portion applicable to Kane County Fiscal Year 2026 is Thirty-five thousand four hundred seventeen dollars ($35,417.00) from the Aurora Opioid Use Disorder Grant; and
WHEREAS, a budget adjustment, in accordance with 55 ILCS 5/6-1003, is necessary to account for this increase in grant funding for the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Kane County Collaborative Diversion Program in Fiscal Year 2026.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board approves of the acceptance of a 2026 Opioid Use Disorder grant in the amount of Eighty-Five Thousand Dollars ($85,000) from the City of Aurora for the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Kane County Collaborative Diversion Program and authorizes the Kane County Board Chairman and/or the Kane County State’s Attorney to execute any necessary documents for the execution and implementation of this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Kane County Board authorizes the following adjustment to the Fiscal Year 2026 budget:
