AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT EXTENSION FOR WALL FINISHING AND PAINTING SERVICES WITH MIDWEST DECORATING, INC. FOR THE KANE COUNTY BUILDING MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT (BID# 22-038)

WHEREAS, bids were solicited for the Wall Finishing and Painting Services (BID# 22-038) for facilities maintained by Building Management throughout the County of Kane. A total of two (2) bids were received by the June 9, 2023 p.m. deadline; and
WHEREAS, the Building Management Department outsources certain Wall Finishing and Painting Services which cannot be performed in-house by County staff; and
WHEREAS, the contract covers Wall Finishing and Painting Services at Kane County Government facilities, and Building Management anticipates service needs up to Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) per fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the responsive and responsible bidder for Wall Finishing and Painting Services is Midwest Decorating, Inc. of Hampshire, IL; and
WHEREAS, Midwest Decorating, Inc., will be used on a project-by-project basis, at the per hour rates cited in their contract; and
WHEREAS, this is the second one (1) year extension out of the possible three (3) available.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract extension with Midwest Decorating, Inc., 44W108 US Highway 20, Hampshire, IL 60140 for Wall Finishing and Painting Services on a project-by-project basis for this one (1) year extension in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) per fiscal year.
