Authorizing Agreement with the Illinois Department of Human Services for the Continuum of Care Capacity Building Grant for State Fiscal Year 2026

WHEREAS, the Kane County Health Department oversees the Continuum of Care for Kane County, a network of social services agencies that coordinates services for the homeless population with the goal of fostering self-sufficiency; and
WHEREAS, the Health Department is the lead entity of the Continuum of Care and is responsible for planning initiatives and responsibilities associated with the program and the cost of the program is covered with federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); and
WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) has awarded funds to the County to expand the capacity of the Continuum of Care for the period July 1st, 2025 to June 30th, 2026.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board that the Kane County Board Chairman and/or the Executive Director of the Health Department are authorized to execute an agreement with the Illinois Department of Human Services, effective July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026, in an amount not to exceed $87,986 (Eighty-Seven Thousand and Nine Hundred and Eighty-Six dollar), and to submit certifications, reports, and other documents required by IDHS to complete Continuum of Care activities.
