Resolution Authorizing the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, IL to Enter into a Two-year (2) Lease Agreement with The Conservation Foundation of Naperville, IL

WHEREAS, the mission of The Conservation Foundation (TCF) of Naperville, IL is to improve the health of our communities by preserving and restoring natural areas and open spaces; and
WHEREAS, this mission is in alignment with the mission of the Forest Preserve District of Kane County (District), and TCF has recently acquired 120 +/- acres of land adjacent to the Schweitzer Woods Forest Preserve; and
WHEREAS, TCF has more limited land management capability of the identified parcels than the District; and
WHEREAS, the District acknowledges the long-standing partnership between these two entities extending over 25 years and including six (6) successful referenda.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, Kane County, IL hereby authorizes and approves a two-year (2) lease agreement between the District and The Conservation Foundation for management and maintenance of the 120 +/- acres adjacent to the Schweitzer Woods Forest Preserve.
