Accepting the Low-Income Energy Efficiency Outreach and Engagement Grant

WHEREAS, the Kane County Environmental and Water Resources Department is pending the award of the Low-Income Energy Efficiency Outreach and Engagement Grant from the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus; and
WHEREAS, the objective of the program is to educate the public with an interactive exposition at the Santori Public Library and the Gail Borden Library on household energy efficiency, climate change and weatherization programs, with a specific focus on young persons and residents of environmental justice census tracts; and
WHEREAS, upon award of the grant in the amount of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000), Kane County will receive reimbursement for eligible outreach and education materials.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman is hereby authorized and directed to enter into the Low-Income Energy Efficiency Outreach and Engagement Grant agreement in an amount of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000).
