AUTHORIZING A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE ILLINOIS CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION AUTHORITY FOR THE AWARD OF THE RESIDENTIAL SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT GRANT TO THE KANE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

WHEREAS, the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (ICJIA) has awarded the Kane County Sheriff's Office the Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Grant (RSAT) in the amount of One Hundred Ninety Thousand Dollars ($190,000); and
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office in conjunction with Lighthouse Recovery will create a recovery pod in the Kane County Adult Justice Center for women detainees to provide similar services currently offered to male detainees with the RSAT Grant funds; and
WHEREAS, this grant will enable the Kane County Sheriff's Office to expand its substance abuse treatment program to include incarcerated women in surrounding counties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board that the grant agreement NOFO #1430-2557 for Fiscal Year 2024 from ICJIA for the receipt of the RSAT Grant in the amount of One Hundred Ninety Thousand Dollars ($190,000) to support the Kane County Sheriff's Office substance abuse treatment programs is approved and the County Board Chair is hereby authorized and directed to execute this grant agreement on behalf of the Kane County Sheriff's Office.
