Resolution Approving a Bid for the Resurfacing of the Culver Forest Preserve Parking Lot in Aurora, IL

WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and desirable for the Forest Preserve Commission to authorize bids for the asphalt resurfacing at the Culver Forest Preserve; and
WHEREAS, the project includes resurfacing of existing asphalt parking lot and entrance drive that is necessary due to degradation of the existing pavement; and
WHEREAS, the qualified, lowest bid for the project received was from Obsidian Asphalt Paving, totaling $37,323.07. Additionally, the District is budgeting a 10% contingency of $3,732.31 for unanticipated additional costs that may arise during construction, for a total project amount of $41,055.38.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, Kane County, Illinois, that the bid received from Obsidian Asphalt Paving of West Chicago, Illinois, for the Resurfacing of the Culver Forest Preserve Parking Lot project in the amount of $37,323.07, plus $3,732.31 contingency, for a total contract amount not to exceed $41,055.38 be, and hereby is, accepted and approved.
