APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (USDOT) AND THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (IDOT) FOR THE INFRASTRUCTURE FOR BUILDING AMERICA (INFRA) GRANT PROGRAM FOR RANDALL ROAD AT HOPPS ROAD GRADE SEPARATION AND INTERSECTION SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, KANE COUNTY SECTION NO. 19-00511-00-CH

WHEREAS, the County of Kane is advancing the Randall Road Grade Separation and Intersection Safety Improvements Project (hereinafter the "Project"), which includes construction of a grade separation carrying Randall Road over the Canadian National Railroad tracks, reconstruction of the Hopps Road intersection, additional travel lanes, multimodal improvements, ADA-compliant pedestrian facilities, drainage improvements, utility relocations, and related safety enhancements along the corridor; and
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Transportation ("USDOT") and the Illinois Department of Transportation ("IDOT") have prepared an intergovernmental agreement under the Fiscal Years 2023-2024 Infrastructure for Rebuilding America ("INFRA") Grant Program related to the Project; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the agreement, the County of Kane is identified as the Designated Subrecipient and will carry out the Project with the assistance and oversight of IDOT; and
WHEREAS, the agreement provides Twenty-Five Million Dollars ($25,000,000.00) in federal INFRA funding toward the Project; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Board finds it to be in the best interests of the County to enter into said intergovernmental agreement for the Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized to execute the intergovernmental agreement with the United States Department of Transportation and the Illinois Department of Transportation for the Fiscal Years 2023-2024 Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) G...
