APPROVAL TO PURCHASE A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE FOR THE KANE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

WHEREAS, the Kane County Sheriff's Office requires one (1) replacement vehicle for a unit that was totaled in an accident; and
WHEREAS, one (1) vehicle will be replaced with budgeted funds from the FY26 budget and reimbursed by our insurance agency through the Kane County Human Resources Department; and
WHEREAS, the most responsive vendor was Currie Motors, Inc., 10125 W. Laraway, Frankfort, Illinois, for a 2026 Ford Police Interceptor Utility AWD for Fifty Thousand, Five Hundred Eight and 00/100 Dollars ($50,508.00); and
WHEREAS, the vehicle will be up-fitted for patrol use at an approximate cost of Ten Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($10,000.00) using various vendors and equipment in stock, making the total expenditure Sixty Thousand, Five Hundred Eight and 00/100 Dollars ($60,508.00) for a road-ready police vehicle; and
WHEREAS, Kane County Human Resources has notified the Kane County Sheriff's Office that insurance will reimburse our agency a total of Seven Thousand, Four Hundred Seven and 00/100 Dollars ($7,407.00) for the totaled vehicle, leaving a balance of Fifty-Three Thousand, One Hundred One and 00/100 Dollars ($53,101.00) to be paid out of the New Vehicle Fund, 128.380.395.70070.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board and the Chair thereof hereby approves the purchase of a 2026 Ford Police Interceptor Utility AWD for the amount of Fifty Thousand, Five Hundred Eight and 00/100 Dollars ($50,508.00) from Currie Motors, Inc., Frankfort, Illinois, to be offset by insurance reimbursement of Seven Thousand, Four Hundred Seven and 00/100 Dollars ($7,407.00), along with approximate expenditures of Ten Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($10,000.00) for upfitting expenses from various vendors.
