Approving an Alteration of Speed Limit, Kirk Road from Majestic Oaks Drive to IL Route 64/Main Street

WHEREAS, the Kane County Division of Transportation has caused an engineering and traffic investigation to be made on the below named streets or highways not under the jurisdiction of the Illinois Department of Transportation; and

 

WHEREAS, the Transportation Committee has reviewed the results of said investigation and has recommended the alteration of maximum speed limits as set out in the Illinois Vehicle Code, 625 ILCS 5/11-604, so to be reasonable, safe and proper.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Kane County Board, that pursuant to Illinois Vehicle Code, 625 ILCS 5/11-604, the maximum speed limits on the section of the below named streets or highways shall be as indicated in the following schedule; and that this ordinance shall be effective upon the approval of the Kane County Board as provided by Statute and the posting of signs giving notice of the altered maximum speed limits.

 

Streets Affected:

Kirk Road from Majestic Oaks Dr. to 0.93 mile south of Dunham Rd.

Existing Speed Limit:  45 MPH

Proposed Speed Limit: 40 MPH                     

 

Kirk Road from 0.93 mile south of Dunham Rd. to IL Route 64

Existing Speed Limit:  N/A

Proposed Speed Limit: 40 MPH
