AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES PROPOSAL WITH WIGHT AND COMPANY FOR THE ELGIN SATELLITE HEALTH DEPARTMENT OFFICE RENOVATION

WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Kane County Health Department to renovate areas within their office in Elgin, Illinois to better serve the residents in Northern Kane County and to utilize the building more effectively with new clinical space, lab capability and a community training venue; and
WHEREAS, proposals were solicited for statements of interest and qualifications for Architect, Engineer and Construction Manager services (RFQ# 26-007-TK); and
WHEREAS, a professional services proposal for the Elgin Satellite Health Department Office Renovation was received from Wight and Company for an amount not to exceed Five Million Seven Hundred Fifty-Nine Thousand One Hundred Sixty-Nine and 00/100 Dollars ($5,759,169.00); and
WHEREAS, the County Health Fund #350 has sufficient reserve funds to pay for the Health Department portion of the renovation ($5,643,962.00) and the County Capital Line Budget has sufficient funds budgeted for the non-Health Department portion ($115,207.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board authorizes the FY 2027 Budget in Fund #350 – County Health to be increased in the accounts and amounts listed below.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairman of the Board is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with Wight & Company, 2500 North Frontage Road, Darien, Illinois 60561 for the professional services proposal for the Elgin Satellite Health Department Office Renovation in an amount not to exceed Five Million Seven Hundred Fifty-Nine Thousand One Hundred Sixty-Nine and 00/100 Dollars $5,759,169.00).
