Budget Adjustment to Increase Appropriations for KaneComm Contractual Services Expense

WHEREAS, since the adoption of the 2026 budget for KaneComm Fund #269, additional contractual services have been required for both telecommunicator staffing agency costs in the amount of $300,000 and the Interim Director of the Department in the amount of $200,000; and
WHEREAS, the 2026 budget for KaneComm Fund #269 for salaries and wages can be reduced by $300,000 since much of these costs are being provided through contractual services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the 2026 Budget for the KaneComm Fund #269 be amended to increase the budget for contractual services by $500,000 as indicated below and reduce the budget for salaries and wages by $300,000, representing a net increase of $200,000.
