AUTHORIZING RECLASSIFICATION OF HOUSING MANAGER POSITION TO ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT FOR KANE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, the Kane County Health Department conducted a comprehensive community health assessment and Kane County organizations identified housing as one of the top four health issues impacting residents; and
WHEREAS, safe and affordable housing helps individuals and families maintain their health, access job opportunities, and build stable lives. Kane County residents who experience housing instability or homelessness, face higher risks of illness, stress, and barriers to essential services. Factors such as crowded housing, housing cost burden, and vacant housing units impact a community's ability to support stable housing; and
WHEREAS, in 2025, the Kane County Board voted to dissolve the Office of Community Reinvestment and transfer five employees and select housing programs to the Kane County Health Department, including management of the Homeless Management Information System, management of the Continuum of Care and management of the HOME Investment Partnership Program; and
WHEREAS, Kane County Health Department has evaluated the programming and determined that reclassification of one of the positions from the Affordable Housing and COC Program Manager to Assistant Director of Planning and Information Management will facilitate the Health Department with meeting its strategic goals and individual program deliverables.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Health Department shall reclassify the Housing and COC Program Manager (Position #958012002) to become the Assistant Director of Planning and Information Management with a grade of 623 and a salary range that begins at $67,124.66 (Sixty-Seven Thousand One Hundred Twenty-Four and Sixty-Six Cents).
