APPROVING A CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION WITH DUNNET BAY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY OF GLENDALE HEIGHTS, ILLINOIS FOR KIRK ROAD OVER UPRR BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, KANE COUNTY SECTION NO. 12-00192-04-BR

WHEREAS, bids have been solicited and received by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) for the work and/or construction described as:
KANE COUNTY SECTION NO. 12-00192-04-BR
KIRK ROAD OVER UPRR BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
(hereinafter the "Project")
WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bidder for the Project is:
DUNNET BAY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY OF
GLENDALE HEIGHTS, ILLINOS
With a low bid of
$36,611,206.15
WHEREAS, pursuant to Kane County Resolution No. 26-282, Kane County previously entered into a Local Agency Agreement for Federal Participation in the Project utilizing Federal, State and County funds to pay for the construction costs thereof; and
WHEREAS, the Project is estimated to be funded in the amount of Twenty-Four Million Six Hundred Eight Thousand Dollars ($24,608,000.00) with Federal and State funds with the County's share of the Project estimated to be Twelve Million Three Thousand Two Hundred Six and 15/100 Dollars ($12,003,206.15); and
WHEREAS, the County deems it prudent to include in its estimated Project cost a Twenty Percent (20%) contingency of the County's share of the Project, amounting to Two Million Four Hundred Thousand Six Hundred Forty-One and 23/100 Dollars ($2,400,641.23).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the award of a contract by IDOT for the construction of the Project is hereby approved and there is hereby appropriated Four Million Dollars ($4,000,000.00) from the Motor Fuel Tax Fund #302, Line Item #73010 (Bridge Construction) and Ten Million Four Hundred Three Thousand Eight Hundred Forty-Seven and 38/100 Dollars ($10,403,847.38) from the Transportation Sales Tax Fund #305, Line Item ...
