AUTHORIZING REVISION TO THE KANE COUNTY FINANCIAL POLICIES RELATED TO TRAVEL

WHEREAS, the Local Government Travel Expense Control Act (50 ILCS 150/1 et seq.) permits local public agencies to regulate the reimbursement of travel, meal, and lodging expenses for officers and employees (50 I LCS 150/10); and

WHEREAS, County Code 2-72 establishes guidelines for employees and officers related to travel expenses; and

WHEREAS, the Kane County Board has established a Travel Policy within the Kane County Financial Policies; and

WHEREAS, compliance for the Kane County Travel Policy is currently administered by the Kane County Auditor; and

WHEREAS, the Kane County Board wishes to review and make a determination on any exceptions to the Travel Policy that may arise.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Kane County Board that the Kane County Financial Policies related to Travel, Section 1, Part c) i. f. is hereby amended as follows (strikethrough indicates deletion and underline indicates insertion):

Travel expense policy is administered by and any exceptions must be approved by the auditor.

Travel expense policy compliance is administered by the Kane County Auditor and all exceptions must be approved by the Kane County Board.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the Kane County Board that the Kane County Code Section 2-72, Travel Expenses Generally, Part A. 2. f. is hereby amended as follows (strikethrough indicates deletion and underline indicates insertion):

Travel expense policy is administered by and any exceptions must be approved by the auditor.

Travel expense policy compliance is administered by the Kane County Auditor and all exceptions must be approved by the Kane County Board.
