Resolution Approving a Bid for the Renovation of Glenwood Park Forest Preserve

WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and desirable for the Forest Preserve Commission to authorize bids for the renovation of Glenwood Park Forest Preserve in Batavia; and
WHEREAS, the project includes the resurfacing of entry road, new parking lot, shelter, restroom, and ADA-accessible pathways; and
WHEREAS, the qualified, lowest bid for the project was received from Obsidian Asphalt Paving totaling $497,950.11. Additionally, the District is budgeting a 10% contingency of $49,795.00 for unanticipated additional costs that may arise during construction, for a total project amount of $547,745.11.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, Illinois, that the bid received from Obsidian Asphalt Paving for the renovation of Glenwood Park Forest Preserve in the amount of $497,950.11, plus a contingency of $49,795.00, for a total contract amount not to exceed $547,745.11 be, and hereby is, accepted and approved.
